The old auto body garage [J and N Auto Body] on Kalorama next to Champlain closed last week. Over the weekend, the sidewalk was littered with furniture and old files from the garage (this disappeared within days). In the last few days, this fencing had appeared on the lot.
Any word on this plot? Condo’d?”

MRP and Kruger will develop a 93,992-square-foot, 112-unit residential apartment building with 6,000 square feet of ground floor retail set to deliver in the spring of 2018. Back in May we learned about plans for the once beautiful former National Bank of Washington building – no longer plans for an Armenian Genocide Museum – next up restaurant and retail. Updates when construction progresses and more info is released.

“The Douglas Development building on Mass between NJ and 2nd St NW had 4 large digital signs installed over the past 2 weeks. Noticed a stop work order on them today.”
Washington Business Journal reported in May:
“Douglas, the owner of 111 Massachusetts Ave. NW, has filed plans with the District to construct a 95,400-square-foot addition and undertake “significant renovations to the building in order to update and improve” its architecture and street presence.”

“High Street Residential, the residential subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, and CSG Urban Partners, have partnered with Meadow Partners to redevelop the St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church site. The Class A mixed-use project, located at 222 M Street, SW in Washington DC, will comprise 221 multifamily units along with a new 16,000-square-foot St. Matthew’s Church and community center.
The project is the latest development to break ground in the SW Waterfront submarket of Washington, DC and affords convenient access to the Waterfront-SEU Metro station and will be a few blocks from The Wharf development.
“The redevelopment of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is an important project for us,” said Josh Dix, Principal with Trammell Crow Company and National Residential Practice Leader for High Street Residential. “The delivery of this project will build on the positive momentum of the Southwest submarket. We are excited about the opportunity to bring the Church and a new community center back to its original congregation in Southwest, Washington, DC.”
