Wanted to let the community know about a string of robberies that happened last night in Adams Morgan. A group of us were walking up Columbia NW at 2am around Gelmarc towers and saw two guys who had just been held at gunpoint and had their phones and wallets stolen. We were standing there helping them call their banks and the same car pulled over AGAIN, and held up our group. (more…)

On Wednesday, a group of 11 Northwest Neighbors Village members had a lively lunch at Steak N Egg Diner on Wisconsin Avenue. In the middle of our meal, we got the most amazing surprise when our waiter came in to say that the young couple who had been sitting at the table next to us had paid for our entire bill of over $250! It’s impossible to got to any public park these days without getting accosted by off leash dogs. At Tregaron, dogs must be leashed for a simple reason- the area is a fragile urban ecosystem and dogs are the leading cause of damage to it.”

I wanted to share some information on something I recently learned about bills at Children’s National. We unfortunately had an 18 hour hospital stay with our son earlier this year and got a very hefty $2100 bill even with our “good” insurance. This seemed outrageous so I started poking around and followed the internet advice to request an itemized bill which revealed a couple errors. I recently read that 80% of hospital bills contain errors!
