Congrats to those selected for DPW’s Curbside Composting Pilot Program!

Thanks to those who passed on their good news yesterday: “After weeks of radio silence DPW has finally announced which households have been selected to participate in the curbside compost pilot!!!”

From DPW:

“Congratulations! We are pleased to share that your household has been selected to participate in the Department of Public Works (DPW) Curbside Composting Pilot Program.

Next Steps:

1. Review Your Welcome Packet. Attached you will find a digital Welcome Packet that provides more information about the Curbside Composting Pilot Program and best practices. A hard copy of the packet will be mailed to your home in the coming weeks.

2. Receive Your Starter Kit. Your starter kit will be delivered to your home no later than one week before collection begins. Your starter kit will include:

· One 5-gallon screw-top curbside collection container

· One 1.9-gallon kitchen caddy

· 100 Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) certified compostable bags

· Information about your collection start date

3. Start Collecting Food Waste. Your household will receive free, weekly collection of food waste from DPW. Your collection start date will be provided in your starter kit and through an email notification.

The Curbside Composting Pilot Program is an important step in reaching the District’s zero waste goals. The District will use this pilot program to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of providing curbside food waste collection services to all households that receive DPW trash and recycling services.

Thank you for your participation and commitment to building a Zero Waste DC!”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
