I am really not sure what else to do besides writing to you to share and divide my sorrow after our recent take out experience. My husband and I ordered take out this past Sunday from one of our local favorite restaurants and had a very disappointing experience. We ordered two seasonal pasta dishes and one appetizer and ended up paying almost $80 for a pick up order. This is odd, for the past few months (at least since mid-summer) there have been 6 relatively new Toyota Camrys with Florida license plates parked in the alley that runs behind Zips and Bread Furst in Van Ness. 4 of the Camrys are in the former Burger King drive thru lot and 2 are in the larger parking lot where the car wash folks dry off customers cars. The Camrys all now have stickers indicating that they will be towed and impounded, and a couple have flat tires. (more…)

The situation: I got a parking ticket in April in Foggy Bottom for legally parking and paying with Parkmobile (there was almost a half hour left on my reservation). In fact, the parking officer ticketed EVERY car on BOTH sides of the street. No construction, no street sweeping, all parked within the posted hours. There was plainly some kind of technical (or officer) error. I appealed, (more…)

The owner of this vehicle on the 1700 block of P St NW says she arrive to find it like this this morning – that someone rammed into it driving it backward up onto the sidewalk and into this tree. Then whoever it was took off. Ugh. She is hoping someone in the area saw something or has surveillance video.” (more…)

Just had an eye exam with Dr. Adel Ibrahim at the My Eye Dr. in Dupont and he did slight of hand magic tricks during the appointment (like made my new contacts disappear as he was handing them to me) – it was so delightful! Definitely recommend for anyone but especially if you have kids who need to be entertained during the appt. 10/10 would recommend.”
