“Dear PoPville,

I hope you’re having a great Monday. Mine started with a fraud alert from Wells Fargo saying someone tried to extract $91 from the ATM but the card was declined due to an incorrect pin input. I only pumped gas, I didn’t use the ATM so it certainly wasn’t me. My only assumption is that perhaps a skimmer was on the pump. I’ve since called Exxon and notified them of the possible skimmer situation and which pump, etc. Hoping to help others avoid the situation until Exxon resolves! This is the Exxon right by union station in Capitol Hill. Thanks!”

Ed. Note: This isn’t the first skimmer at a gas station alert we’ve been sent over the years – anyone have tips on how to identify if one is possibly in place?

“Dear PoPville,

I’m a former DC resident who will be moving back from California in a couple of weeks. I also have an appointment scheduled for Tuesday in California to get the Moderna vaccine. I 100% want to go ahead with the appointment in California, but I’m concerned about making sure I can get a second dose of Moderna 28 days later in DC. I can’t find any info on the DC Vaccine website about what to do in this situation. It seems like a huge hassle (and irresponsible still) to take a brief trip back to California that should be totally unnecessary. Thanks!”

“Dear PoPville,

I had a missed connection on Thursday March 11 around 5:00ish in the afternoon on Half St SE and M. I was caught off guard and completely missed my chance to get a name or number.

You: Male, dark hair, nice smile, driving a white truck and hanging a left onto M

We were both stopped at the light waiting and you caught my attention by asking (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I unexpectedly received a bonus from work and I’d like to find a way to share the good fortune with my community. In particular, I’d like to donate a large portion of it to organizations that work on (1) homelessness issues in DC and (2) helping DC students access technology. Do folks have recommendations on organizations that work on these topics and could make good use of a contribution?”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m a DC resident with the car registered in DC with a clean title. I’m selling it on facebook marketplace and already have a bunch of prospective offers. I figured I’d take off the license plates but how do I legally transfer the title and registration to the new owner? Anyone have any insight?”
