“people sharing their experience with the last round of DC vaccine notifications”

“Dear PoPville,

Wondering if we can get a thread going with people sharing their experience with the last round of DC vaccine notifications? For those of us waiting, I think it’s somewhat helpful to know what to expect/what others are experiencing, etc.”

Early responses:

“I got an email at 9:01 on Thursday morning that looked like this. It came to my primary inbox, not one of the tabs. I pre-registered on the first day it was possible. When I clicked, some of the locations were already full but Howard had lots of times.”

“I pre-registered and when I got an email to book and appointment (literally 4 minutes after I got the email) I was able to get an appointment at a local Safeway. Received an email confirmation with QR code a few minutes after”

“I pre-registered the day it opened up (currently eligible) and haven’t heard about an appointment yet but have seen several others receive their notifications so it’s been a nerve-wracking wait.”

“I pre-registered, didn’t expect much, but got an email on Sat AM from MedSTAR Health inviting me to set up an appointment. I got in that day, at Wash Hosp Ctr. Lots of folks must’ve answered the same email; the staff was very surprised and a bit unprepared but we got our shots.”

“I qualified and registered but haven’t heard anything. However, I’ve heard from multiple friends who’ve registered + gotten an appointment in the last week that the process moved quickly and DC is offering the choice of all three vaccines.”

“I pre-registered but don’t have underlying conditions nor am I a frontline worker. I got an email from MedStar Health to book an appointment. It had a specific code to use. I had surgery there 2 years ago, I wonder if the hospital is doing its own admin with ppl in their system?”

“It was super easy to book my appointment once I got the notification. I just clicked on a link, entered some info about myself, and then was given a range of booking times”

“I’m at the “did I fill it out wrong?” stage”

“I got the email last Thursday morning at 8:57am, logged onto the site, was able to look at locations closest to my home , but they also listed what vaccine each site has, so I chose a J&J site. It gave me options for 3/21 or 3/28, I chose yesterday. Confirmation email right away”
