“Dear PoPville,

I am desperately looking to see if anyone in DC can help me find my son’s bag— he lost his beloved stitch bag somewhere either on the 400 block of 11th St NE or by the Kennedy Center. He’s totally heartbroken. There was money in it (don’t care about recovering that back), but what is really most special is the actual purse and inside the plain black wallet that was a gift given to him. Is there any way you can help?”

If you spot it/have tips please email me at [email protected] and I’ll pass on to OP.

“Dear PoPville,

This will be our first winter in DC with a toddler and I’m wondering where we are taking little ones on the weekends. Looking for spots (ideally in the city) that are kid-friendly, have space enough for toddlers on the move, and have food and drinks for the adults. Bonus points for outdoor heaters and TVs!”

Unfortunately, the large net meant to keep balls from going into Upshur Street has been shredded for ages – as a result, every morning I see kids retrieving balls from the middle of Upshur, a busy street with lots of morning commuters. I took the attached picture with the school bus and the ball in the middle of Upshur street one of the several times the ball went into the street THIS MORNING. [Wed.]

After many 311 requests, I reached out to our councilmember’s office and council staff helped us learn that the work order to fix this net was opened in May 2019. (more…)
