I counted 11(!) booted cars this morning between N Capitol and Tuckerman and N Capitol and Van Buren Streets yesterday morning. And at lunchtime, there are 3 tow trucks in the area towing booted cars away. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for five years and have never seen parking enforcement near our house. (more…)
“Dear PoPville,
I wanted to send this as a sort of community warning to folks. Yesterday, 8/31, I was assaulted while walking in Mount Pleasant just before 6pm. I was headed East on Irving St between Mt. Pleasant and 16th St and a man going the other direction was very intentionally walking down the middle of the sidewalk. When I tried to get out of his way and pass around him, he sped up and very deliberately went toward me- I tried even more to get out of his way by angling my body as close to the other direction as possible. Before I could process what was happening, he bodyslammed me into the fence so hard I lost my footing and nearly fell over. I was at the Logan Circle South Block waiting outside for a pick up order yesterday (Tuesday) at 11:15am. I was parked illegally in my work “Toastworthy” truck. A super cute guy parked behind me, also illegally. We kept watching our cars and started chatting. He was nice and complimented my pick up. There were good vibes. (more…)

I am a resident here (flats 130 in NoMa), and posters have gone up everywhere since our building made an announcement (I’ve seen three different ones since last night) – our building is trying to tell us we can no longer have our packages delivered to our actual physical address. they have to be delivered to a “fetch address” which is a warehouse, and then you schedule a delivery time. Thought I’d give a heads up to residents living in the Adams Morgan area that bike thefts have been happening.
From what we could figure out, someone climbed over the locked back gate with a busted up wooden ladder at around 4am on Friday, August 12th. The individual used the ladder to climb up and onto our balcony, stole my mounted bicycle, climbed back down the ladder and left leaving behind some rope and this ladder at the scene. Which absolutely creeps me out because this was definitely premeditated. (more…)

I own a parking space behind my building. It is deeded with my condo. I woke up this morning to find a notice that DC water will be taking it over for at least 2 days next week as a construction staging area. I didn’t get any notice other than finding this sign in my parking spot. (more…)
