I own a parking space behind my building. It is deeded with my condo. I woke up this morning to find a notice that DC water will be taking it over for at least 2 days next week as a construction staging area. I didn’t get any notice other than finding this sign in my parking spot.
Making this a little bit more challenging is I never got a residential parking permit since I have a parking space, and my street, Church Street, has a lot of parking spaces closed off next week because a non-profit, has a permit reserving them.
Can DC Water just take my space? Can I at least get them somehow to pay for a parking garage? (I’ve tried calling with no success) Appreciate any advice.”
