“Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts, owners of Cork Wine Bar, are proud to announce the expansion of their wine bar and market to Cleveland Park. The husband-and-wife team’s newest project will be located at 3504 Connecticut Ave NW, with a targeted opening of early Fall 2025. The third Cork location follows the 17-year-old flagship on 14th Street NW and an outpost in Spring Valley, which opened in 2021. “We are excited to join the Cleveland Park community,” says Gross. “We are looking forward to meeting our new neighbors and seeing old friends and regulars, and introducing them to the new Cork, a neighborhood place where guests can gather to enjoy good food, excellent company, and delicious wine.”

I don’t know if it’s just because I’m old but this one hits hard. I remember the excitement of when they first opened, which feels not that long ago… 17 years!!
About a week ago Sticky Rice shared the super sad news:
“After 17 unforgettable years, Sticky Rice DC is closing its doors. 💔
This decision wasn’t easy. The pandemic, decreased foot traffic, rising food costs, labor costs, and the impact of Initiative 82 have all made it impossible for us to continue. We fought hard—but it’s time to say goodbye. (more…)
