From Deputy Mayor John J. Falcicchio Wednesday:

“We are told that breakdown will start in earnest at 6 pm and will likely take about 36 hours.

That aligns with the end of the Inauguration Pause on indoor dining which is set to expire on Friday, January 22, at 5 am. Restaurants will then be able to return to 25% indoor. (more…)

Since the attack at the Capitol Building, 5 local Black-owned restaurants have been working tirelessly to provide meals for our unhoused neighbors throughout DC. In partnership with local grassroots mutual aid group @fueltheppl, Open Crumb, Taste of Jamaica, Heat da Spot Cafe, Chez Dior and Po Boy Jim have made over 1,100 meals for the community to support unhoused DC residents that have been impacted and/or displaced by the current state of emergency in DC. Thanks to Brett for sending: “Cusbah was one of my favorite Indian restaurants in DC until it closed in the fall. I randomly googled it today, and the website indicates they are reopening for delivery and takeout with a new address listed. A Twitter post from 1/1/21 indicates delivery “coming soon.” Great news!”
