Mayor Bowser dropping some big news on Friday at 8:35pm:

“An update on Dave Thomas Circle: We were informed today that the last day of operations for the Wendy’s will be next Tuesday, & they will vacate the premise by 9/30.

Onward to a less confusing and safer intersection. Grateful for the advocacy of neighbors who helped us get here.”

Justice Gilpin-Green wrote around 8:15pm: “Man at Le Diplomate standing on bars throwing bottles at everyone in the restaurant. We all thought it was a gunman when everyone started running. Police arrived, but honestly kind of worrying how long it took.

He was NOT a customer, appeared to be possibly homeless & definitely had mental health issues … but hopefully is getting the help he needs”
