“Dear PoPville,

My wife and I are looking to have some or all of our Thanksgiving dinner catered this year. I would love very much to spend two days in the kitchen making dinner, but our house is small, our toddler is manic, our jobs are busy, and we’re expecting seven people from out of town.

Any suggestions?”

“Dear PoPville,

Looks like there was a break-in in Tenleytown District Taco and Roaming Rooster. Both glass front doors were shattered this morning and police tape surrounded. Police tape has been taken down now.”

Let’s show some love if we can – check out Roaming Rooster’s menu here and District Taco’s here.

“Dear PoPville,

It’s been closed for a few weeks with no indication of what’s going on. Any insights?”

Akira Ramen opened here in the former North Sea space, at the end of 2019.

Their Facebook was last updated Oct. 3rd and their phone rings without going to voicemail.

Hours are listed as:

Sun- Thurs 12pm – 10pm
Fri. to Sat. 12pm – 10.30 pm
Tue: Closed

Anyone know what’s up?

From a press release:

“Beuchert’s Saloon will re-open its doors for full-service dining on October 20, for the first time since March 2020. Regulars of the beloved Capitol Hill restaurant will find many of the classic Beuchert’s dishes from chef Andrew Markert and cocktails from beverage director Mackenzie Conway resurrected on the menu alongside new seasonal additions. All will be served in the warm, intimate saloon setting that neighbors have called a home-away-from-home over the restaurant’s nearly nine-year run. With the day-to-day operations of the kitchen under the care of chef de cuisine, Bart Hutchins, Beuchert’s will be open for dinner seven days a week with weekend brunch service rolling out in the following weeks. “Dear PoPville,

With the weather hopefully about to cool down, I was wondering if you could put out a call for all the best restaurants in DC that do soup really well. If there’s any places that soup is the main fare would even be better.”

Hopefully Fainting Goat returns with their masterpiece, “NO SOUP FOR YOU” soon. Personally I love the French Onion soup at Chez Billy Sud. Where are your favorite soups at?
