Back in Sept. ’10 we learned that an Italian Pizza Kitchen was coming to 2608 Connecticut Ave, NW (they also have a location at 4483 Connecticut Ave NW.) Thanks to a few readers for sending word that the new space has opened. It looks great. This is def. not just a take out option. You can see their menu here. Though I’m also pretty intrigued about the frozen vodka lemonade. Anyone check them out yet?

“Dear PoP,

Just wanted to let you know that Ketcha Fire is finally open. I stopped in on my way home and picked up an order of jerk chicken wings. They were tasty and the folks working there were super friendly. They are open late – I think they said 11PM during the week and something like 3AM on Thurs-Sat nights.”

Ketcha Fire Grill is located across the street from Dodge City at 928 U St, NW (b/w Vermont and 9th.) And it looks like another good late night option for the weekends:

The owner writes:

“We would like to introduce the Adams Morgan community to Instant Noodles. This modern interpretation of traditional Vietnamese and Thai cuisine blends spices, fresh herbs and vegetables with succulent meats, dipping sauces and broths to create a burst of aromatic flavors. The menu includes broth and soup-based dishes such as Pho, green curry and Mi Do Bien, rice and vermicelli dishes such as the favored pad thai as well as Vietnamese sandwiches and salads. Instant Noodle is sure to be a hit for both the lunch and dinner crowd.”

We’ll be sure to revisit for a proper judging in a few weeks.

Now this could be huge or, admittedly I’ve been known to do this in the past, I could be overreacting but I’m cautiously optimistic. At the Dupont Marvelous Market (1511 Connecticut Ave, NW next to Kramerbooks) the sign above stopped me dead in my tracks. Since a Lobster Roll costs $15 at Luke’s Lobster Shack and Red Hook Lobster – this could be awesome. Though it could also be like comparing a McDonald’s hamburger to a Palena hamburger. Anyone happen to try the Marvelous Market lobster roll yet? I’ll be sure to report back after I grab a taste.

I know they opened up last week but I wanted to wait a bit so I could share the menu as well (see PDF below). Sadly, I haven’t had a chance to try them out yet at the old Seafood & Things space at 847 Upshur St, NW but I did chat briefly with the owner (pictured below) who was super nice. In addition to trying the pizza, I’m also eager to see how the Gyro tastes.

Anyone check them out yet?
