“At approximately 1:20 AM, a male victim was shot in the 1200 block of I St SE. The injuries are considered non-life threatening, and the victim is receiving medical care. There is no suspect description available at this time. This case is being actively investigated by members of the First District Detectives Office.

Members of the community with any information are asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. You can also text information anonymously to MPD by sending a message to 50411. Anyone with video footage from the surrounding area is asked to call as well.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 4500 block of Illinois Avenue, Northwest, on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

At approximately 3:57 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to a call for a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, members located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 21-year-old Josiah Jones of Northwest, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411”

“Shots at 8pm @ just south of 8th & Decatur. A burst of 8, then a burst of 6-7. No one hurt. Massive police presence here.”

“At approximately 8:27pm, members of the Third District responded to the 2900 block of 14th Street NW for a call for a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, they located an adult male suffering from a gun shot wound. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he is being treated. Detectives continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Command Information Center on 202-727-9099.

14th Street is currently closed between Harvard Street and Columbia Road but should reopen soon.”

Update:

“In reference to the shooting reported a few hours ago in the 2900 block of 14th St. N.W., the crime scene merits investigation until the morning day light hours. As such, 14th St. N.W. between Columbia Rd. and Harvard St. will remained closed until the crime scene investigation has concluded.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in the Assault with Intent to Kill that occurred in the 2900 block of 14th Street, Northwest, on Monday, May 2, 2016.

At approximately 8:29 pm, members of the Third District responded to a call for a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

After further investigation, 33-year-old Warren William Bibbs of Northwest, DC, was arrested the same day the offense occurred. He was charged with Assault with Intent to Kill.

“The Second District was recently alerted to several incidents in which unidentified male subjects were observed watching children.

While we have not had any reported abductions or attempted abductions, we wanted to provide our community with a synopsis of each incident and a description of each subject. We have documented each incident and ask that you immediately report any suspicious person(s) or activity in the community so that the person(s) are identified.

“At approximately 2:00 am [Sunday], members of the Metropolitan Police Department were in the 700 block of Park Rd. N.W. and observed a robbery that was in progress. The suspect, an adult male, was subsequently placed under arrest.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting that occurred in the 800 block of 21st Street, Northeast on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

At approximately 10:42 am, members of the Fifth District responded to a call for a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, members located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital. All lifesaving efforts failed and the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old Leo Hackett of Northeast, DC.

A short time later, 67-year-old Wilbert Whitaker of Northeast, DC was arrested. He was charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.”
