Carjacking in Eckington Last Night by Kids as young as 10 years old

“On 7/31/2019, at approximately 11:40 PM, members of the Fifth District responded to the intersection of 3rd and U Street, NE, for the report of a carjacking. Once on the scene, the responding officers learned that the complainant had been sitting in his vehicle at the location when he was approached by three suspects. The suspects entered the complainant’s vehicle and told him to get out. When the complainant refused, the suspects began to strike the complainant about the face and body with closed fists. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill offense that occurred on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in the 3rd Street Tunnel near Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 2:52 pm, the suspect brandished a handgun and fired at the victim after a traffic related dispute. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. (more…)

Early Morning Triple Shooting in Shaw; 10:50pm Shooting on H Street, NE

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, July 28, 2019, in the 600 block of T Street, Northwest.

At approximately 3:47 am, the suspect approached the victims at the listed location. The suspect brandished a gun and fired shots. The suspect then fled the scene. Two victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Additionally, two other victims refused medical treatment on scene.

The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos and video link below:

Anyone who can identify this individual or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.”

Woman 37 Weeks Pregnant Assaulted in Logan Circle on Sunday 9am “He has been arrested so many times in this exact area.”

“Dear PoPville,

I was assaulted on Sunday at 9am near 14th and P Street, NW. I am 37 weeks pregnant. The guy was arrested. The person who assaulted me was released on streets yesterday [Tuesday] while awaiting trial! I confirmed in DC court records (he has 14 pages, over 300 entries in the DC court system or crimes he has been accused of.) He is a serial sexual assaulter and groper in NW DC, articles are saying he has had more than 70 arrests but always released. (more…)

Shooting in Mount Pleasant; Death Investigation (“no suspicion of foul play”) in Georgetown

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 3100 block of Mt Pleasant St NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. Officers and detectives are currently on the scene investigating.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

“The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying 14 persons of interest in reference to an Aggravated Assault incident which occurred in the 1900 block of Connecticut Avenue, NW, on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at approximately 1:00 AM. Update: Suspicious Package in Columbia Heights “no gunshots involved with this suspicious package”

Update from MPD:

“Units from the Third District responded to the area of 14th and Park Road for a suspicious package that had been left in the area. The item turned out to be a suitcase that had no hazardous materials. Patrol and specialized units responded to the scene. There was no gunshots involved with this suspicious package and traffic has been re-opened.”

Update from Alert DC at 1:11pm: ” DC Police reports the police activity in the 3100 Block of 14th Street NW is clear and all associated road closure are open to traffic.”

Raja writes: “Apparently there were shots fired between a suspect and a police officer. There are K9 units there now Fwiw. 14th shut down from Irving to Monroe”

6:30pm Shaw in Shooting Tuesday Night

MPD reported around 6:30pm: “Shooting at 1827 hrs at 8th & O Streets, NW. No lookout.”

Shortly thereafter MPD shared more details:

“The Third District is investigating a shooting in the 1300 block of 8th St. NW. An adult male is in stable condition at an area hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound. 3 subjects are stopped, and the incident is pending further Investigation. A weapon was recovered from the scene. Officers and Detectives are on scene investigating the offense.
