So all summer long I’ve felt like I have been tripping over yellow jackets. They are seemingly everywhere and always just buzzing along the ground. I’ve wondered what the hell is going on, and then I stumbled a tree completely infested with lantern flies and the ground around it was slick with syrupy honey dew (their shit), and a swarm of bees, hornets, and yellow jackets were lapping it up.

Any idea what’s going on with the new apartments on 4600 block of Wisconsin Ave (the former Kitty O’Sheas)? It’s been months since there were any workers on site and it’s half done. Simple Bar & Grill, a Brightwood institution for over 12 years (& located just north of Petworth on Georgia Ave) has had to close its doors. Over the years, Wilfredo and the whole Simple team tirelessly supported area families and businesses, DC’s LGBTQ+ community, local music & arts scenes, & more. As they are now faced with financial challenges due to the unexpected closure, I’ve started a GoFundMe to help with the unforeseen expenses.”
