“Snallygaster is the District’s biggest & beastliest beer festival, bar none. And, on October 11th, the merry monster makes its triumphant return to DC for its 13th year as a rollicking tribute to the wonderful world of craft beer. Festival goers can expect a mind-boggling selection of over 450 highly sought-after brews on draft from nearly 175 of the finest American and international producers set against a backdrop of local food trucks and two stages of live music.
Brought to you by the minds behind DC’s Bluejacket, ChurchKey, The Sovereign, Shelter and more, this is far and away the biggest event of the year for beer geeks of every stripe.
Pay a flat fee for your admission + unlimited beer, wine and cocktail tastings. Food and merchandise can be purchased with cash or credit card throughout the venue. As always, we fully expect to sell out and strongly encourage you to purchase your passes well in advance for guaranteed admission. There are two options to choose from, both of which include a commemorative tasting glass plus unlimited beer, wine & cocktail tastings. The VIP Basilisk pass also includes 2 hours of early access to all of the beers and is key to tasting the rarest selections that may run out prior to the official 2 PM start. Basilisk sold out early on, but Kraken passes (2 PM – 6 PM) remain.
With the Capitol building as our backdrop, Snallygaster lives smack dab in the heart and hubbub of DC on Pennsylvania Ave NW between 3rd & 7th – a location that provides a huge footprint to allow for fewer, quicker lines along with plentiful seating, shaded areas, restroom access and room to roam. As always, we strongly discourage driving to the event – for many reasons, not the least of which is that there truly is no parking to be had. Instead, take the metro, grab a cab or use a rideshare.
BENEFITTING ARCADIA
Snallygaster serves as the largest annual fundraiser for Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture, a nonprofit organization started by NRG in 2011 and dedicated to creating a more equitable and sustainable local food system in our region. By attending, you are supporting the demonstration farm in Alexandria (where they grow food using sustainable practices and host thousands of school kids to teach them about farming & healthy foods), two mobile farmer’s markets dedicated to under-served & low-income neighborhoods, a veteran’s farm education program and so much more.

Our friends from Mobius Records in Fairfax, VA are back at Snallygaster this year! They’ll be popping up in a big tent next to the 6th Street stage with hundreds of records on hand.

Our prize wheel and raffle booth are back at Snally this year as well! Purchase your opportunity to spin for massive prizes with all proceeds benefiting Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food and Agriculture. Prizes will include rare beers, private tastings, gift cards to NRG locations and Snallygaster VIP tickets for life!
KIDS ZONE + SHOP MADE IN DC + ARCADIA
Mulberry Lane, our children’s playspace and cafe in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia (and coming soon to The Roost in Washington, DC!), will be hosting our Kids Zone with exciting activities for children of all ages. They’ll have a Straw Pile Animal Hunt, an Arts and Crafts Zone, Ring Toss, Toddler Sensory Play Area, Large Moon Bounce and Photo Booth.
Shop Made in DC is going to be in the house once again with a maker market and crafts pavilion showcasing DC apparel, Women Icon DIY kits, jewelry, hot sauce, prints and cards, candles and DC-centric art. This year’s makers include Andy Factory, District CoOp, Too Much of a Good Thing Studio, Neptune Paper, Tyyrita’s Aromas, Chatter Platters, Amaya Accessories and Luke Makes Art. The craft activities will include a trucker hat bar, bag charm making and a Snallygaster tote bag making activation.”
