“Dear PoPville,

TL;DR Any recommendations for who to contact about someone taking out the trash from around 6 to 6:30 am?

And the “too long” part:

I live in Mt Pleasant (Ward 1) in an apartment building that backs up to a private parking lot for row houses. The row houses have formed an association that pays one of their members to take out the individual trash bins for all of the residents– my guess is somewhere in the range of 20-30 bins. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Acknowledging you’re a DC- focused entity, BUT I wanted to email a little plea to our local neighbors to consider fostering animals from Prince George’s County. Currently, the county still has a breed ban which means that any dog labeled pit bull can only be adopted or fostered by residents outside the county. Every other day rescues are getting lists of dogs on the urgent list which are only being given 24-48 hours to find a new home. (more…)

The season kicks off with Grammy-nominated Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas on May 31. Other highlights include a Juneteenth celebration concert with the Muneer Nasser Quintet on June 21, Caribbean steelpan from Josanne Francis on June 28, and contemporary jazz from saxophonist Brent Birckhead on July 26.
