From an email:

“Forget a full-fledged formal dinner and opt for savory, vegan and vegetarian friendly bar bites and bold beverages at wallet-friendly prices. In the newly renovated Georgetown Inn lobby entrance and its adjacent restaurant, 1310 Kitchen & Bar, everything has gone all modern with clean, sleek lines!

Extending the themed decor to the dinner plate – Bar Bites [offered 5PM – 11PM] have sprung onto the menu with light and refreshing vegan and vegetable dishes, that has guests questioning if it is really only made with vegetables. The winner, winner chicken dinner, skips the chicken for Jackfruit Tacos with Cabbage, Pickled Onion, and Avocado Cilantro Sauce. Other favorites include the Slaw Tostada with Refried Beans, Cabbage, Carrots, Pickled Onion, Cucumber, and Jalapeño or the Bangin Broccoli with Sambal Sauce. And share in a slew of savory Flatbreads like the Spinach, Artichoke, and Arugula.

The seasonal drinks are high on the citrus scale for springtime, complimenting the garden fresh dishes – like The Rapture, composed of Beefeater Gin, St. Germain, Cointreau, Lime Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Cherry Simple Syrup, and finished with a Begonia Blossom garnish. Get ready to be green with envy over the Jolene cocktail featuring Hendricks Gin, Lime, Cucumber, and Basil Simple Syrup. Pucker up with the Cherry Bomb – mixing Cherry-infused Vodka, Lime, and Club Soda. And prepare to be transported to sunny skies and crystal clear waters with the Blue Bayou – Milagro Tequila, Malibu Rum, Pineapple, Lime, Triple Sec, and Blue Curacao with an umbrella garnish.

The bounty of plant-based bar bites ushers in the month of April, celebrating the fruits from Planet Earth – oh so vibrant, fun, and delicious!”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
