My Shady Grove bound train loss power in between White Flint and Twinbrook. We were stuck in a tunnel for about 30 mins. I am just getting to my desk and I boarded the train at 7am. I know ppl were upset about the wait times but it must have been better than my experience this morning. 17 stops and then right before we reach my destination stuck for 30 mins. A complete disaster. :-(

My wife thought she was so smart driving to Rockville this morning instead, until it took almost half an hour just to get to Woodley Park. Any idea what was going on at the Capital Hilton that gave the surrounding streets a POTUS-level lockdown?

        Thanks. Amen!

Are you sure? I’m fairly certain that he cancels this event every year. I read it all the time in emails that have been forwarded, forwarded, forwarded.

Whether he was there or not, I’m sure there were still so many muckety-mucks that it rates the full treatment.

I thought he moved it to the mosque on Massachusetts Ave.

Let me check with my uncle and I’ll get back to you on that one.

People think I am crazy for adhering to a bus only policy. I’ll take the bus from Farragut North to Tenleytown, which takes twice as long in travel time, but it’s specifically to avoid exactly this type of meltdown that happens all too frequently.

I normally take the bus from Stadium Armory to Farragut North. I stayed with family in Bethesda last night and am now stuck here until metro gets this mess together. I mean I could uber to work, but it’s surging.

  • DC_Commuter

This has gotten out of hand. How can they expect people to pay for something so unreliable? I boarded at Farragut at 8am and arrived at Bethesda at 8:57am….it should be a 18 minute commute!

Metro has just brought in a legal team with expertise in managing municipal bankruptcies, most notably Detroit’s, to help get its financial house in order. On the one hand, that’s probably a pretty good skill set to have for this task, on the other, that’s a pretty scary indicator.

  • I Dont Get It

I was in a cranky mood this morning so I cabbed into work so I inadvertently missed this mess. All these metro problems are seriously pushing me to accept my org’s push to make me 100% a telecommuter.

This is why I’ve become a bicycle commuter. Sad.

  • quincy

The endless red line drama helped me switch to year-round bicycle commuting — the only commuting option (besides walking) that seems to be getting better instead of worse.

I have to admit I do not understand the logic of offloading a train full of people who have already been delayed to turn around a train….how is that fair if you’ve already let 3 trains pass because you couldn’t fit on it, only to have yourself dumped on an overcrowded platform 3 stops before you need to get off.
