Check out Roaming Rooster’s menu here.

“In early 2015, Roaming Roosters was founded in Washington, D.C. by a family with a unique concept. The idea of a food truck with fried chicken that you could feel good about eating: free-range, grain-fed chicken served fresh every day. (more…)

14th and Quincy St, NW

Thanks to Heidi for sending:

“Signage going up for the new restaurant by the same owners as El Sol and Mescalero. Little Havana at 14th and Quincy set to open soon!”

Stephen reports:

“Hey PoPville, just ran into Joseph at Little Havana on 14th. Said they’re shooting for an 8/10 opening, and they’ll have a menu featuring inspiration from Cuba’s Chinese expat community, as well as cabano sandwich-inspired egg rolls.”

Update from Little Havana’s PR:

“Little Havana’s menu includes traditional Cuban dishes and dishes with a twist, like Cubano egg rolls (and they’re delicious).”

Ed. Note: PR also confirms the August 10th opening.

11th and Fairmont Street, NW

S reports:

“pho coming to 11th and Fairmont!! Wondering if it’s the same as Pho Viet on 14th!”

Updates as they get closer to opening, and based on their Bun DC website don’t appear to be affiliated with Pho Viet on 14th.

Ed. Note: This still could be huge.

Ed. Note part two As to the status of Bun DC the new sister restaurant to Pho Viet on 14th, they’re new website (thanks to Mark for sending) is live: (more…)

Back in March we learned that Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. was closing on Bladensburg Road and moving to a new location. My sources now say that this will be in Shaw!! I give this scuttlebutt an 88% accuracy rating. Stay tuned for their “signature fried chicken” and much more. God willing.

Ed. Note: This is right near Uprising Muffin that, I believe, will soon become an &pizza – stay tuned on that front too.
