From the Adams Morgan BID:

“Las Canteras is closing.

Sunday March 18 will be our last day.

Nearly eleven years ago, co-owners Eddy Ancasi and Gary Lee set out on a mission to bring great contemporary and traditional Peruvian cuisine to the DC area.

Along the way, we have served 91,253 Pisco Sours, 60,492 Lomo Saltados and 78,000 servings of Ceviche.

With that we declare a Peruvian Culinary victory!

We are grateful to you as a loyal customer for the support and patronage you have given over the years. You have become part of the incredible village we have tried to build and nurture in the heart of Adams Morgan.

We have been thrilled to be the destination for dozens of first dates, engagement, wedding and birthday parties or just a fun evening out.

We plan to continue our journey with new culinary endeavors. We hope that you will be a part of our adventure. Please e-mail us at [email protected] and we will update you as soon as we are ready to launch.

Until the last dinner bell clangs on March 18, we will continue to offer you the finest Peruvian food and drink. We hope you will have time to come by for a meal and a toast.”

826DC is a local nonprofit that offers free writing programs, homework help, and publishing opportunities for DC students ages 6-18, in our Columbia Heights writing center and in learning spaces across the city.

Paddlestar Galactica helps keep writing education 100% free and accessible for all of our students! It’s also extremely fun.

This year’s games will be Saturday, April 27th, 1 PM to 4 PM at SPIN DC. It’ll be a chaotic afternoon of ping-pong, costumes, terrible Battlestar Galactica puns, and good cheer. We’d love to have you join us!
