Or the storms have knocked down some ginkgo berries a bit early. It gives me absolutely no pleasure to share this find from 36th Street, NW in Wakefield. So much for that spraying, though I do look forward to their beautiful leaves turning yellow. As for the berries, of which many more are coming – a classic lament.
This tree on Macomb Street in Cleveland Park blew me away. I don’t know if it was the light or what but the scene was truly breathtaking. Notice the color of the red and how amazing even the fallen leaves look on the steps up to the house.

Sunday was such a beautiful day. It only got better as I passed dozens of the most beautiful reds I’ve seen in a while.
Why would four identical vines of similar length change colors at different times? You can the one on the left is deep red, the one in the middle is yellow, and on the right is green. I also noticed a tree that had half yellow leaves and half green on the same tree. I haven’t stumped you guys yet – so can anyone explain this to me?
It’s been a while since I’ve done a PSA but this is important. Rock Creek Park is looking amazing. As a neighbor told me, you don’t have to go all the way to Shenendoah to appreciate the Fall foliage. In the next week or so though you should really take a drive or walk through the park, it is amazing. Also many of the side streets around town are equally breathtaking. Take a walk soon, you won’t be disappointed! If anyone has some favorite spots to check out the foliage around town please let us know where we can find them. I checked out many of the sidestreets in Georgetown that were incredible.

For sure the area in Shenandoah National Park is ridiculously cool. But a little closer to home, it never ceases to amaze me how amazing Rock Creek Park looks. Are there any other spots that are a must see in the DC area?
So where do you go to get your pumpkins?
