When we spoke about Wok and Roll closing in Adams Morgan, Tekla wrote “Nooo, these were the best dumplings in DC!” Obviously we need to address this immediately since dumplings are the best. So where are the best dumplings in DC these days?

I know that’s an odd question. But it stems from this tweet I got the other night from Aly:

“Don’t sleep on the Timber Pizza Co empanadas. With pineapple sauce.”

So I, naturally, associate Timber with pizza. But now I’m dying to try this empanda. Anyway it got me thinking of other foods I might be missing out on. I still don’t think this question makes a ton of sense so just tell me the best food item, on or off the radar, available in D.C. today!

Do folks travel for Farmers Markets or just go to the one the live closest to? For those who are passionate about Farmers Markets – where’s your favorite and what do you love about it?

“Dear PoPville,

Reboot of “best dry cleaners” from 4 years ago? We have this thread from about 4 years ago and I am sure a lot has changed since then. We’re looking for a place that is able to clean removable furniture covers (not needing to come to our apt). Also, where do people go for quality and affordable clothing alterations?

When diaryofatravelingeatie tagged us in this photo:

“The most beloved tacos in the DC Metro are at a gas station.

Taco Bar is at the Shell station on Fields Road in Gaithersburg, MD. Here, taco tortillas are doubled (x2!), and the tacos are so stuffed that the filling falls out when you take a bite. The tacos are served unadulterated – just meat and tortilla. You can load them up how you want at the toppings station. Besides tacos, they have any matter of other Mexican entrees and sides, such as burritos, tortas, and refried beans and rice.”

I knew we had our next Friday Question of the Day. Especially after last week’s epic best breakfast sandwich discussion. So where’s your favorite spot – including the ‘burbs? (more…)

Ask and ye shall receive – where are your favorite breakfast sandwiches these days? I know we have a lot of Heat Da Spot fans – where else?

“Dear PoPville,

Though i grew up getting crabs in Maryland my entire life I have no idea where to get crabs around DC or even how much a bushel costs.. I’m trying to throw a cookout since I haven’t had my yearly crab feast. Just wondering where is the best place to go to get some bushels of crabs?”

“Dear PoPville,

There have been some recent RRRRs in which people have asked about others’ experiences with online dating platforms… any chance you might be willing to do a PoPville thread on the topic?”
