“Dear PoPville,
What are the best restaurants close to Union Station?”

Big claim from Michelle but does look delicious:
“Best sit down lunch sandwich in all of #DC is the Chicken Curry on the Cranberry Nut Bread Le Diplomate! Enjoyed it with amazing friends on a challenging day & can’t wait to go back for another! See you there & save me a sandwich!”

Thanks to Ryan for sharing: “a big shout out to my friends at Primrose in Brookland. EASILY the best value plate in the city is their HH burger w/ a side salad & frites, $12. Unbelievable burger, incredible value. Eat at the bar.”
Happy hour is “Every Monday – Friday from 5:30 – 7:30 at the bar we offer $8 wines as well as discounts on some of our most popular dishes.”
Ed. Note: I’m trying to confirm whether or not the HH burger deal is $12 or $15 but either way in 2022 not too shabby with salad and frites included though there was a time… You can see other best burger options here and here.
Update: “I can officially confirm Primrose’s current Happy Hour specials are:

“Dear PoPville,
I had the juiciest, most flavorful dumplings from a food truck named Himalayan Soul Foods at the Asia Fiesta food festival in DC last weekend. These dumplings are called momos and they are eaten in Nepal and Tibet. One distinctive feature of these momos is that they have a tasty tomato sauce to go along with them. I can’t believe it was the first time I’ve heard of them. I was wondering if anyone knows of any restaurants that serve momos in DC/ VA? I’m a fan!”
Ed. Note: Stand by for Momo DC coming to Dupont. In the meantime where are some current great spots?

Maggie asks: “any recommendations for tasty dim sum and dumplings in the city?”
For DC proper we suggested Da Hong Pao and Han Palace. Others suggested: (more…)

Alex asks: “Any restaurant recommendations for softshell crab?”
I can’t find the email but I’m pretty sure Dauphine’s has them. And I think Yardbird has them too. Who else?

Trenton writes: “I’m convinced Pappe is the best Indian in DC but I’m open to other hot takes, PoPville”
Hot takes you shall have: (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
With Spring here I was scouring the site for thrift shops but couldn’t find anything recent about different places to check out. Specifically looking for men’s clothing. Maybe the community can help?”
