“Dear PoPville,

I signed a BINDING not to exceed estimate with a broker (didn’t advertise themselves as such but here we are). The total was not to exceed $1782 which I was to pay in 3 increments- one as a deposit, one at pick up, and one at delivery. The broker then subcontracted the job. The day they were to arrive I called bc they were late, they said sorry it’ll be another hour. Ok, np. Then they called back and said their truck broke down but they could be there the next day. Some of us will be staying inside reading in front of our window AC units, and some of us will be getting out of town and away from this sweltering swamp town altogether. (Just kidding, no one’s going on a weeklong Malört-fueled bender, that’d be kind of scary.)

Last year our sale leading up to the break was a huge success, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve noticed that most DC residents are not aware that the city will plant trees for free if you request them on the 311 app which is also free. It takes about 5 minutes to request. I’ve marked up some screenshots of the steps on the 311 app to make it easier to know what to do. It’s a simple step in helping our city fight the heat. Hopefully, more residents are aware of this and utilize this service.” (more…)
