“Dear PoPville,
Just a heads up to let people know. The man who you posted about a few times (exposing himself in public parks) was seen this AM in Stead Park doing the same thing around 7:30 AM.

“Dear PoPville,
I just saw the parking lady out writing tickets again, so I went and spoke to her. She told me that the green “2 hours OR a parking sticker” areas are fine to park in and no tickets are being written. But for any spots labeled “resident parking only” tickets are being written again for anyone parking there without a proper sticker. I also saw her write a ticket for someone who was parked past the last parking sign (parked too close to the corner).”

“Dear PoPville,
I live in on Westminster Street in Shaw, which has a children’s park on the street and many families in the area that come to play there. I was leaving my house around 6:45PM [Monday] and was walking west on Westminster and a tall (probably 5’11” or 6’0″), lanky, african-american, male approached me. We were about 15 feet apart when he seemed to adjust his jeans, but I then realized that he was exposing himself (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I am one of the contact tracers on the DC contact trace force. We started a lot of outreach today to possible cases for coronavirus. We also call people who tested positive to do follow up questioning. A lot of people do not answer the phone from an unknown number.”

It is going to be very very hot today. We are also still in the middle of a global pandemic.
1. Please drink lots of water if you are out and about today. Seriously.
2. Please continue to wear your masks as uncomfortable as that may be. Seriously.
3. Keep fighting the good fight, history is on your side.

Heads up that the Reeves Center at 14th and U St, NW is not a polling station. See all the polling stations here: (more…)

Our regular posting schedule will resume when we return from our afternoon constitutional.
I’m anticipating further clarity and details about the 7pm curfew as well an update on coronavirus data.
Please continue sending your questions/tips/photos/etc. to [email protected] or @PoPville on social media. Thank you. And let me say again – the power is on. But I am hearing that Trader Joe’s is closing at 6pm tonight…

“Dear PoPville,
I just wanted to give a heads up to runners in northeast (specifically between 2nd-3rd and K-F) of a man that is verbally harassing/chasing runners. I witnessed a runner being harassed by this man Monday near Ebenezers coffee where he screamed at the man and jolted at him. I myself was harassed by him today near Indigo with him using profane language, etc. My boyfriend found him after I came home terrified and he called the police. The police came and reported that other people had called in this individual today as well but they can’t arrest because no crime was officially committed.”

Thanks to Audrey for sending the warning from outside of Dumbarton Oaks Park (3100 R Street, NW).
