“Any DC folks out there whose tax documents have gone missing in the mail? Two different tax docs came for me while I was on work travel but neither is in the pile of mail neighbors brought in for me. Feeling pretty stressed out about compromised info.

PSA for anyone else worried about fraud after tax docs went missing:

Just got off the phone with someone at SSA who instructed me to file a report w/ the Office of the Inspector General. Call 1-800-269-0271 10a to 4p M-F or file online here.”

In other fraud tips “Important information if you received unemployment tax forms but didn’t file for unemployment benefits”:

“Call DOES at 877-FRAUD-60 if you received a 1099-G Tax Form and did not file for unemployment benefits. DOES will flag the potentially fraudulent unemployment claim for investigation and will directly notify the IRS of any necessary changes to the tax form.”

Reno Road and Tilden Street, NW/Tilden towards Sedgwick

Dear Dog Walkers doing this,

First and foremost, thank you for picking up after your pup. That is very much appreciated, truly.

However, that is merely half the battle. While these trash cans (many which have been removed for some reason) around the Embassies on Tilden Street, NW should be getting emptied, they obviously are not. As such, this is not an invitation to play some kind of shit bag jenga. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

After being out of town for a couple weeks I was so thrilled to see that pylons have been installed on SB 11th @ the NW corner of Lincoln Park, dividing the traffic pattern for those turning left from E Cap in the right hand and left hand left turn lanes. I remember a few months back, a poster wrote in about a traffic ticket for “cutting a police car off” when she was in the left most left turn lane (which directs drivers either southbound on 11th or westbound on North Carolina) and correctly went straight down 11th whereas the officer was in the right most left hand lane which directs drivers westbound on Mass or E Capitol. I drive this route really frequently and almost without fail someone in the right most left turn lane will cross over into my lane (going south on 11th). (more…)

Thanks to Meghan for sending on Sunday: “Looks like someone shattered the front door at So’s your mom. Remarkably, and a testament to their industriousness, they fixed it already.”

I’m gonna take this as a good opportunity to remind you that So’s Your Mom is the best.
