18th and S Street, NW

Thanks to Watson for sending what looks like an oven under there: “construction signs on 18th and S at the old Rosemary’s Thyme Bistro!”

Back in February which feels like a million years ago, we posted confirmation about Pupatella taking over the old Rosemarys Thyme space.

Stay tuned.

From an email:

“Slice Joint is a joint venture between Neighborhood Restaurant Group (The Roost 1401 Pennsylvania Ave, SE) and Rachael Marie, formerly of Roberta’s. The first Slice Joint location opened at The Market Line food hall on the Lower East Side in November 2019 (the same food hall where NRG’s craft beer bar The Grand Delancey sits). Slice Joint’s menu features a tight selection of approachable, New York and Grandma-style pizzas (whole & by-the-slice) that rely on only fresh, seasonal and high-quality ingredients – including Rachae’s house cheese blend. Slice Joint’s DC location will mirror the current offerings, with some seasonal updates. (more…)

Ed. Note: This is the spot with the dope indoor moss garden we looked at last week. I got to see it in person and it is incredibly cool. And of equal import – the food was delicious too. This is gonna be another very popular spot.

18th and S Street, NW

Back in October we shared the scuttlebutt (aka “the rumors”) that Northern Virginia’s beloved Pupatella would be taking over the then recently closed Rosemarys Thyme Space on 18th Street. Today news reports confirm the scuttlebutt. Washingtonian reports: “Owner and Naples native Enzo Algarme says his team is angling for a spring opening.”

See some love for the Arlington spot here and STAY TUNED for an exact opening date.
