A few months ago, my girlfriend went to go check on her car in Woodley Park to see it had been towed from the normal spot and city construction signs where her car was. She is 100% certain she did NOT park in the construction zone, but instead the city expanded the zone (or moved the sign) to now encompass the parking spot. Her car was towed to Conn Ave., which has limited parking, where it was promptly ticketed multiple times and towed again to the location where she was eventually told her car was. She is now “responsible” for approximately $700 in parking tickets.

First, we tried disputing the tickets through the DMV’s parking payment system. (more…)


“Dear PoPville,

This morning PEPCO put up many temporary no parking signs on my block…. Only problem is the permit is for 3 spots on a different block, not a full street and not my block.

Do I still have to obey these?

I have some neighbors who operate a junk hauling business from their house. They regularly park 2 beat-up pickup trucks filled with junk on our street. It’s annoying to look at and they take up lots of space but I’m not sure much can be done about that. Our street is RPP zoned for 2hr parking M-F.

Now however, they have procured a large flatbed tow truck and have been parking it on the street as well. (more…)
