From SEOULSPICE:

“Eric Shin, owner of SEOULSPICE, is pleased to announce the expansion of his healthy Korean comfort food concept with three new locations scheduled to open later this year. Founded in 2016, Shin opened his flagship location in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington, D.C. and expanded with additional locations in Tenleytown and College Park, Maryland, opening the following year. SEOULSPICE offers Korean-style rice bowls, kimbap burritos (Korritos), japchae noodle bowls, and salads showcasing original recipes from the Shin family, some of which have been passed down for generations.

The first of SEOULSPICE’s three new locations is scheduled to open in May 2021 at the Westfield Montgomery Mall Food Court (next to Chipotle). Shin has also signed a lease for more than 2,000-square-feet of space at 439 7th Street, NW, 20004, across the street from Jaleo, which is scheduled for completion in July 2021. (more…)

When we posted about the Chipotle closing in Dupont, a couple readers responded:

“Looks like the one in Chinatown is closed too. Not sure if it’s permanent or not.”

“Chipotle in Gallery Place is now closed down from what I’m hearing”

The Gallery Place/Chinatown location is still listed on their website but closed all days. Ed. Note: Gotta give respect for keeping the name Chiptole MCI – some old school respect!! Updates as we learn more.
