Thanks to Ed for sending, the sign says: “Masks are required outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained.”

And from the Mayor’s Office:

“Mayor Bowser and DC Health, led by Dr. LaQuandra Nesbitt, announced that beginning Monday, April 19, DC residents who are 65 and older will be able to get vaccinated without an appointment at walk-up sites across DC. Each site, which will administer either the two-dose Pfizer vaccine or the two-dose Moderna vaccine, will be able to accommodate up to 30 walk-in appointments each day. Residents 65 and older can walk up during the days and times listed below while appointments last. (more…)

“CVS has appts you can book directly through the CVS website. They put you in a virtual queue and eventually let you in. I had ~ 50 to choose from (all moderna) since I know a ton of people got their vaccines canceled!!!”

Anyone else successful this way?

“Dear PoPville,

I was wondering if anyone knows about open movie theaters in the DC area?

I saw the post a few weeks ago about the boards coming down outside of Atlantic Plumbing (yay!) but they seem to still be closed. I’m recently vaccinated and hoping to be able to return to a theater soon so any info you or others may know would be greatly appreciated!”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m a D.C. resident who received an end-of-day leftover first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at a pharmacy right across the border in Maryland. Easton is about an hour and 15 minute drive from DC, and there are hundreds of appointments available. The site is administering J&J, so you only have to make the trip once. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Our condo association seems to be the only one in the area interpreting the mayor’s current orders to totally prevent the use of rooftop grills. They’re citing the maor’s requirement that, “Any shared equipment should be cleaned and disinfected between users, in addition to being arranged according to physical distancing requirements.” I reached out to the city and they won’t provide clarification beyond what’s printed in the phase 2 order.

Any chance you’d be willing to do a poll of folks living in condos about amenities that have reopened? Seems like we’re the outlier and everyone else has figured out how to make it work within the guidelines.

(For reference from our condo board president…) (more…)
