Melange’s website says:

Born in Ethiopia, trained in France, and now famous for his triple-blend burger, Chef Elias Taddesse’s new restaurant Mélange builds on his iconic burger with new classics inspired by his Ethiopian heritage. As the city reopens, Mélange will expand with an East-African infused cocktail menu and chef tasting menus of Ethiopian-infused fine French cuisine.”

Brands Inc., parent company of Elevation Burger and seven other restaurant concepts, in partnership with Franchisee, Yousuf Nagaria of Capitol Concessions LLC, announces the opening of a new location in Washington D.C. at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. The grand opening is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2020.

Thanks to Ethan for sending Saturday: “Signage from Bobby’s Burger Bar on K street being removed”

Bobby’s Burger Palace opened on K Street in August 2011.

At the moment this location is still listed as temporarily closed on their website. Obviously the sign coming down is never a good sign, updates when/if the closure is announced as permanent.



1924 8th Street, NW at Florida Ave

“The Holidays are about giving and celebrating. They are about overindulgence and spending time with friends both new and old.

In that spirit DC9 is bringing back to life the much lauded Palena Burger!

It’s been five years since the acclaimed Palena closed its doors and the beloved burger graced the tables of DC dinners, and we miss it. Amber Bursik, chef at DC9, whom cooked at Palena for several years and cooked many of those Palena burgers herself thought this was the way she and DC9 could spread some holiday cheer to their guests.
