Update: Full release from MPD:
“The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announces the arrest of three suspects in a fatal traffic crash that occurred in Northwest.
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 5:35 p.m., United States Park Police detected a stolen vehicle, a silver 2014 Honda Accord in the area of Rock Creek Parkway and Virginia Avenue, Northwest. United States Park Police attempted a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled north on Rock Creek Parkway onto Shoreham Drive, north on 24th Street, and south onto Connecticut Avenue, Northwest. As the suspect vehicle sped south on the William Howard Taft Bridge, the suspect vehicle crossed into the opposite lanes of traffic and struck a moped. The impact of the crash caused the victim to be ejected from the moped and into the street.
The suspect vehicle did not stop and continued southbound off the William Howard Taft Bridge, (more…)

Sophocles’ “Oedipus Rex” meets 1993’s rom-com “Sleepless in Seattle.”
Two different actors will take the stage each night without having rehearsed or read the script. Instructions from a voice in their headphones will guide them through the piece as they assume the roles of Oedipus, Jocasta, Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.

“Urban Garden Brewing will open the doors to its first permanent home, Urban Garden Brewhouse, on Friday, June 19, 2026, with a Juneteenth grand opening celebration in Shaw. Founded by brewer, hospitality professional, and native Washingtonian Eamoni Collier, Urban Garden Brewing is recognized as D.C.’s first Black woman-owned brewery. The Juneteenth opening marks a major milestone for the company and a meaningful return to the former Right Proper Brewing space, where Collier spent eight years working earlier in her career.
The celebration begins at 1 PM with an official ribbon cutting, followed by a full day of beer, live Go-Go music by N2L Band, arcade games, and family-friendly programming. Opening weekend will continue on Saturday, June 20, with a brunch party at Urban Garden Brewhouse. (more…)
