But please no personal attacks and no need to correct people’s grammar. This is a place to vent and/or celebrate things about daily life in D.C.

Animal Fix

Mama Tuxington is a social butterfly who’s thriving in her foster home with multiple cat companions. She’s a playful explorer, always ready for a good romp with her furry friends or a solo session with her favorite toys-especially anything stuffed with catnip!

This tuxedo queen has excellent litter box manners, a healthy appetite, and knows exactly where to sharpen her claws (hint: it’s the scratching post, not your furniture)! Mama Tuxington also has a soft spot for humans-she’ll happily cuddle up next to you for a Netflix binge or a lazy afternoon nap.

If you’re looking for a friendly, playful, and affectionate companion, Mama Tuxington is ready to steal your heart!

Hi Folks! I am Misty and I am the complete canine love package! I was found on the streets of Alabama, and despite my rough start, I am full of sweetness and grace. I don’t want to brag too much, but I am super gentle when meeting people for the first time. Once we get to know each other better I’m eager to share my desire for affection and playtime.

I’m also great with cats and dogs. While I am a fan of romping with other dogs, I listen well when the senior dog in my foster home isn’t interested.

I have had no accidents of the bathroom variety and am also good in a crate. So, what more can you ask for? Well, if you are looking to get those 10k steps in, I love to go for long walks and I am great in the car, so let’s go hiking!

Seriously folks, I will bring joy to your life, so what do you say? Let’s meet! I will bring out my best behavior and look at you with my soulful eyes. We can walk into the sunset and create a future together. You won’t be disappointed, I promise! Apply today to meet me. Follow @4.paw.fosters on Instagram for more pics and adventures!

Dear PoPville

“Dear PoPville,

If you’re thinking about a local wedding or other special event, Petworth (and 16th Street Heights/Brightwood Park) has many gems. On September 28th, Moreland’s Tavern transformed into a festive, floral setting with an elegant dining room, delicious buffet, hopping dancefloor, featuring The Experience Band and Show, and tented outdoor patios for cocktails and jazz. The staff decorated to the nines with wisteria and candles, and the service was spectacular. Afterward, the dance party continued down the street at Neptune Room, a funky dive bar on Georgia Avenue. The wedding ceremony took place earlier in the evening in the intimate garden of Friends Meeting of Washington in Dupont, which has beautifully-lit indoor and outdoor spaces for photos. San Matteo, another Petworth hot-spot, served as the venue for the Friday welcome party, offering signature cocktails and a variety of tasty Italian dishes. All vendors were local, making the wedding easy to plan and low stress, and with neighborhood charm. Check out the vendor list (Rich & Clara Wedding Vendors PDF) if you would like inspiration and information for some terrific local venues and artists.

The couple, Clara Haskell Botstein and Rich Martinelli, met in DC and live in Petworth with their orange tabby cat Lyonel, featured in PoPville in March of 2020. (more…)
