“Dear PoPville,

Like many, our Xmas plans have changed in light of the ongoing pandemic, and while we are not at the point of throwing out our tree, we are just not really celebrating. So instead of the fancy dinners (all suggestions looked awesome last week), we’re thinking of doing a mini-smorgasbord of Asian take out, and are looking for favorite spots and specific can’t miss dishes for Chinese, sushi, Thai, Laotian etc that are doing take out Xmas Eve.

“Dear PoPville,

Back when I used to drive to work every day and the world was normal, I often saw a veteran named James at the intersection of 11th and Mass NW on the eastbound side of the street on Mass Avenue (the south side) right beside the park right before 11th. I actually hadn’t seen him in the few months leading up to the stay-at-home orders in the spring, and started to worry about him then, but as I’ve gone past there on my way to work since then and never seen him since, I’ve gotten a bit more worried about him. Back in July we learned that Solly’s would return to their original size. Now we know what’s becoming of the former expanded space – A liquor license placard for DNA Lounge says:

“A new Retailer’s Class C Tavern with a seating capacity of 30 and Total Occupancy Load of 30. Applicant requests an Entertainment Endorsement with a Dance Floor to provide live entertainment.” (more…)
