“Dear PoPville,

Beware of this crazy mid 60s well dressed white man. I got on the bus at Safeway and walked into the middle of a screaming match. I am almost certain that he was the instigator because it was him versus the entire bus. He was mostly screaming at a mid 40s man, but also screamed at women, other passengers, and the bus driver. He kept yelling at the other man to get off so they could fight, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Saw this go down at R and 14th Thursday night. Forester was blocked in by a motorcycle “illegally” parked behind it. Owner of the car actually walked to 3+ businesses to try and find the owner. Collective agreement at Red Light was to back into it to get out.

My wife and I have seen similar shady park jobs on 14th and U by motorcycles.”

“Dear PoPville,

I am a busy DC parent who sometimes drives, sometimes bikes to work. I have a friend from college who was killed in DC in 2008 when a truck turned right through a bike lane and crushed her, so I’ve always been very safety-focused regardless of whether I’m on a bike or in a car.

I’m confused about who has the right of way after a car merges into the bike lane to turn right. According to DDOT, if you are a car wanting to turning right across a bike lane, the proper move is to wait for the cyclists to pass and then slowly merge into the bike lane before you turn right.
