“Dear PoPville,

Question about car crahses in DC. Apparently the DC cops don’t come to fender benders or other accidents unless someone needs medical attention and an ambulance needs to be called.

I was not at fault and it took 4 months for the other party to make up a lie about hitting my car and now my insurance is liable to pay even though not at fault.

What has anyone else experienced in this situation? I called the cops after the accident and was told to simply go through insurance and then that backfired.”

“Dear PoPville,

On Saturday night I was out with a friend in Logan Circle when I used the Uber app to select an UberX to come take me home around 10:20 PM. I was connected with a driver pretty quickly, but she messaged me in the app saying that the map would not show her moving until I gave her my phone number–that there was “an update to the app.” I had recently read about some other sketchiness in Uber on PoPville, so I didn’t respond as I was chatting with my friend about how I thought it was a scam. “Woodley Park, right by the metro.”

“Dear PoPville,

Three lemmings decided to take a left-turn onto Connecticut from the wrong side of a one-way lane this afternoon during rush-hour. I watched all three (successfully?) make the turn while cutting off anyone trying to make a legal right turn into their occupied lane as well as those making a legal left turn from the correct lane.

Just another day in DC I guess?”
