“Dear PoPville,

5 incidents involving a group of kids (between the ages of 7 to probably 13) terrorizing the homes on Kirby St NW and Morgan St NW. They run up to the homes kicking or throwing rocks/bricks and then run away and then come by and do it all over again. It’s escalated now to them throwing rocks at anyone who confronts them. “Dear PoPville,

I was at Target on NY Ave and there was a man who was having a mental issue of some sort. He was yelling at “someone” about his house and that they shouldn’t “come around anymore.” At first i thought he was yelling at me, but as I walked by he didn’t change his focus and there wasn’t anyone else in the aisle. “Dear PoPville,

Friday night (February 17th) my friend and I (we are both young women) were leaving the Little Grand (7th and H St. NE) a little after 11pm. We were walking home going west on H Street NE when a man standing outside of the Whole Foods yelled something at us (I didn’t hear what he said as my friend and I were in mid-conversation). The man was tall, stout, and probably in his 40s. My friend and I kept walking and we could hear him continuing to shout at us. He was saying things like, he needed to tell us something, he was the black Jesus, he knew God, and was mad we weren’t talking to him. We realized he was following us as he was shouting. He followed us to H and 4th NE when (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

My family has lived in our rowhouse for ten years. Recently, new neighbors moved in next door. They smoke pot indoors at all times of day and night, and whenever they do, it basically hotboxes my house. I don’t know exactly how the smoke gets in — we have an insulated attic and newish windows etc, but it smells extremely strong in the house and lingers. I’ve asked the neighbors politely about four times not to smoke indoors, most recently yesterday. My younger daughter has asthma, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

A neighbor’s car alarm constantly goes off every few hours to no avail. The vehicle is current on tags and the vehicle also runs because it’s moved on almost a daily basis – but always parked in the general area along 5th/Kennedy. This has been going on since late November.

Not sure who to call about it – not as easy as calling for an abandoned car in an alley- hoping someone else might have suggestions?”

“Dear PoPville,

Not sure if this is bothering anyone else- but we appear to have a new traffic guard/director in the morning at the intersection of Columbia Rd and 17th. Someone is normally out there directing cars and pedestrians, but this new guy won’t stop whistling at every single car and person. It is INCESSANT. From 7 am to about 9-10 am it is non-stop every 2 seconds. (more…)
