The flier says:

“BRAND NEW – new boutique condo. 2 bed + 2 bath. Private porch. Architecturally stunning, blocks from Columbia Heights metro. Reclaimed wood floor. W & D, stainless steel appliances, Euro kitchen & Ann Sacks tiled bath. GARAGE PARKING AVAILABLE. Pets OK. PRICE LOWERED 30K!”

You can find more info and photos here.

Here’s a good example of a classic row house that was converted into three 2 bedroom condos. Firstly what do you think of the unit itself? Personally I think it looks pretty good. Unit #2 is going for $329,900. Does that sound reasonable for a 2 bed/2 bath in this location?

You can see Unit #1 here ($299,900) and Unit #3 here ($359,900).

Well I’ve never heard of Gayot but it’s always nice for a local spot to get national recognition. They write:

“…it’s really one of a kind in DC, for no other place dares to tread where this eatery goes: Swedish waffles may be a breakfast option, possibly smoked Baltic sprats for lunch or dinner, or maybe a bison burger or pirogi in two different variations—the one filled with cheese also contains little-seen buckwheat.”

Domku is located at 821 Upshur St, NW.

The Craigslist ad says:

“Come see this 2 bedroom apartment just minutes away from the Metro. This bright apartment is in a completely renovated building. Rent includes water and gas. No pets allowed. Free parking available behind the building. Please respond to this posting to schedule a time to view the apartment. ”

Do you think $1195 is reasonable for this 2 bedroom?

“Dear PoP,

I don’t know if you have addressed this, but the restaurant Seafood & Things on Upshur is still closed despite it’s door placard stating it would reopen after the Christmas holiday.

I walked by today and to my surprised found a yellow tabby napping on the counter INSIDE…see pictures…
My concerns are 1)is the restaurant permanently closed and 2) is someone feeding/caring for the cat???”

Perhaps they have gone the way of nearby Beveragemania open one day and closed the next. Does anyone know if they have permanently closed? For the record I’ve had a pretty good crab cake sandwich from them. I’m not sure if seeing a cat in there is a good sign or a bad sign…

Seafood & Things is located at 847 Upshur Street, NW.

The Craigslist ad says:

“Get ready to live in a bright studio basement with a separate entrance, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, bathroom and washer & dryer. If you are into gardening you can also have space in the backyard to plant some herbs and vegetables. Street parking is available. You can have access to a garage parking for an additonal fee. You will pay 1/3 of the utilities which averages to about $50-$80, including gas, electric, water and wireless internet. Cable is also available at an additional cost.

It is located 15 minutes from the Georgia/Petworth Metro Station on the green line, near the new Yes Market on Taylor Street, and is on several bus routes including 60, 64, 70 & H8.

Looking for someone clean and responsible. Sorry, no pets or smoking.

Move-in date March 1st. Initial 3-month trial period, then one-year lease. One month deposit.”

Does $800 sound reasonable?

“Dear PoP,

This picture was taken after the lighter snow fall from 2 weeks ago…this is on either 7th or 8th street NE of Grant Circle. I just wanted to ask what’s up with that?”

I’ve seen this boat once before, can’t remember if I wrote about it, but def. think it is awesome. Incidentally on twitter someone asked what’s going to happen when all the snow melts? Anyone know if we are in store for some serious flooding?

Besides the snow, how did your block/neighborhood survive the wind? Many trees down?

I’m posting this a bit early so I can hit the neighborhood bars but it is expected that the Federal Government remains closed as do above ground metrorail stations.

If you have burned out on snowball fights, what are you going to do to pass the day? I have to say I finally saw the movie Zombieland and thought it was fantastic. I dare say a perfect snow day film.

Well there obviously hasn’t been too much progress this last week but I thought it was cool to see the structure of the new CVS at Georgia and New Hampshire Ave., NW starting to take shape.

Thanks to a reader for sending, I hope it doesn’t lose any more limbs. I’m getting very worried with all this wind.

And how high will it go? Everyone all set on food and booze?

Please check on your elderly neighbors to make sure they are ok.

Let’s take new bets on when people will have to go back to work, particularly as rumors of another storm for Monday are circulating…

Photos from @DDOTDC

They got this photo from Allison St NW. Not sure what the cross street is From the 300 BLOCK ALLISON ST NW. They are saying that it took down the power lines.

At least the parking spot is still saved…
