Well I’ve never heard of Gayot but it’s always nice for a local spot to get national recognition. They write:

“…it’s really one of a kind in DC, for no other place dares to tread where this eatery goes: Swedish waffles may be a breakfast option, possibly smoked Baltic sprats for lunch or dinner, or maybe a bison burger or pirogi in two different variations—the one filled with cheese also contains little-seen buckwheat.”

Domku is located at 821 Upshur St, NW.

I can’t believe you’ve never heard of Gayout! It’s only the premiere GLBT dining guide in America!

  • Clearly anything promoted as “Since 1969, restaurant, hotel, travel & other witty reviews by a handpicked, worldwide team of discerning professionals” is very LGBT.

Gayot pronounced “guy-oh” is where you can find plenty. It happens to be one of the best international resources for hotel and restaurant ratings that I have ever come across. We always check out the ratings before making travel plans to somewhere new.

I’m a raging homo and never heard of this guide.

  • it’s only the most well-written, prestigious, professional restaurant guide out there, whether you’re a raging homo or tame hetero

  • This is wondrous news! Oh!

Domku was also ranked in their Top 40 Cheap Eats in the U.S., holding it down as the only restaurant chosen in DC!

don’t get my wrong, i like domku, but it is anything but cheap.

  • Um, it has nothing to do (directly) with the LGBT community. It was started by a man named André Gayot. It’s based in LA. They are pretty much the folks that put California dining and nouvelle cuisine on the map.

  • I’m a raging celibate, and I’ve never heard of it, either. Domku is one of my favorite watering holes, though. Try the mussels! And the Aquavit in many flavors is great, too.

  • Bah Humbug!!!
