“Female Boston Terrier – Her name is Lucia. She is about 15 lbs, white with black dariy cow spots, a tan leather collar which has my cell number on the tags. Very sweet and friendly, but probably a bit scared and lost. Last seen by a neighbor in Lincoln Park. If you have seen her or know where she might be PLEASE call 843-368-8910.”

“Dear PoPville,

This cute little guy or gal seems to be new to the streets, so I think he or she may have escaped from home. I wanted to send a pic to see if anyone recognized him or her. Seen Saturday and Sunday evening around 10th and O St. NW. There’s a distinctive blue and silver paw print tag on the color, but kitty was too skittish to let me close enough to read it. I hope he or she finds a way home soon!”

“This little sweetie found her way to a hiding spot on our porch today. Corner of Gallatin and Illinois Ave NW. She’s cleaned up and fed now. But she looks pretty stressed out. She’s been whimpering and doesn’t want to be far from people. She’s now at the Humane Society on New York Ave. We’re pretty sure she’s a Bichon. She doesn’t have a chip and they think she’s about three years old, maybe younger. They say she looks very healthy.

If her owners don’t see her or pick her up, she’ll be ready for adoption in a few days. She’s very sweet. We hope she finds her family or a very loving new home soon.”

“Dear PoPville,

We are a married couple looking to rent a place for the summer while we renovate our house, but every building seems to have a breed restriction. Our dog is sweet and docile, but he is a pitbull mix. If you or anyone in the Popville community can connect us with a 4-month rental/sublet that is pitbull-friendly, we would be very grateful.”

“Dear PoPville,

I was just wondering if anybody knew whether the dog park next to Dock 79 and across from the Nationals Stadium is closing soon? The parking lot next to it is all closed off, and the entire lot is now fenced in. There is still a small entrance to the dog park, but it looks like it could be gone soon too. I had originally heard rumors that the lot had been sold and the dog park would close, but I thought it wasn’t going to happen until the summer of 2019. Any info on this? This is my dog’s favorite dog park, so I hope it doesn’t close.”

Thanks to Julie for sending from Logan:

“At 15th and R Streets in a tree box, a sign newly nailed to a tree:

My Garden I fret
Is at times beset
With waste foul and wet
Please curb your pet

A rejoinder on cardboard:

This tree box you claim as “your garden”
Is public right of way
So I do beg your pardon
The pups shall poop where they may.”

“Dear PoPville,

Our sweet (and diabetic) yellow lab had a severe and unexpected seizure in Meridian Hill Park. It was so sad and panicky for me and I felt absolutely helpless. A few fellow dog owners stepped in with incredible kindness and generosity. Specifically, a huge thank you to the woman who gave us her dog’s food after we went through the extra treats I had brought and ran across the street to get more treats to help bring her out of her shock, and to the woman who called us an Uber from her account. I don’t know what I would have done without you.

We’re at the vet’s now and she’s stabilizing, largely due to the kindness of others. We’d love to reimburse the Uber cost and to say thanks (extra treats for their dogs that lost some of their playtime)! Can you help us get in touch?

Please email [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP.
