Thanks to Zack for sending. Bar Lorea closed after a brief residency here back in January 2020. Prior to Bar Lorea this space was home to Diet Starts Monday, The BBQ Joint, Den of Thieves, Hanoi House, and Blackbyrd Warehouse space. Check out Victory’s Miami menu here. “Dear PoPville,

My friend and I were out walking today (Friday) and stopped at the corner of Vermont and U right around 4:45pm by Service Bar, and a guy rode by us on a bike and slapped my ass super hard – so hard at first I thought it may have been the bike handle, but it didn’t seem to send him off balance and he didn’t look back to apologize or indicate it was an accident. He rode off on Vermont going towards 9:30 Club. It shook me up for sure, definitely violating. (more…)

Attempted Carjacking and Shooting in Hill East, Shots Fired in Park View, Stabbing at 14th and T St, NW

MPD reported around 11pm:

“Stabbing Investigation in the 1400 block of T Street NW. Lookout for H/M, wearing white shirt and black jeans.”

Update from MPD: “Last night the Third District investigated a Domestic Violence related stabbing that took place in the 1400 block of T Street NW. The victim sustained non life threatening injuries.

The case was closed with the arrest of an adult male.”

From MPD:

“Early this morning, members of the Third District responded to the 1300 block of 12th St NW for the report of a stabbing. An adult female was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The Investigation is ongoing but we believe the incident is the result of robbery attempt.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

From MPD:

“This morning at approximately 0115 hours, an individual was walking towards their vehicle in the 1800 block of Burke Street SE when they were approached by an unknown suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect demanded the victim give up their vehicle, and when the victim refused the suspect fired one shot from the handgun, striking the victim in the arm. (more…)

My entire apartment shook last night with a really loud BOOM at 3 am. Woke me up scared out of my mind. I know this happened earlier in the year too. I live right by Cardozo. Anyone else feel it?”

He blamed the mix up on the mask. But in reflection, I wish I wasn’t so quick to dismiss him. He was tall and skinny. I had cheetah print sneakers on. Hoping you enjoyed your time with whomever you mistaken me for, but would love to connect!”
