“Chef Peter Prime and co-owner Jeanine Prime announce the opening of St. James, a modern Caribbean restaurant, at 2017 14th Street, NW. The 2550 square foot dining room will feature dishes celebrating the diversity of Caribbean cuisine, along with creative cocktails and a thoughtful wine and beer list. MPD reported: “Shooting at 9th & T St NW. No Lookout at this time.”

Around 11:40pm Sophie and others reported: “Multiple gunshots near Pennsylvania and 12th St SE. We didn’t see it but heard it and freaked out. Now tons of sirens. Stay safe, DC!”

Today in Crabs Coming to Town – “Chesapeake Crab Shack & Bar Coming to U Street”

Yesterday we learned that Juicy King Crab House was coming to Adams Morgan and today we got the press release (actually sent yesterday but I didn’t want to overwhelm you) for the Chesapeake Crab Shack & Bar. Back in January we shared the news that “an outdoor-focused fun concept with guest seating exclusively outside. Full bar with local beers only” was coming here. Now all the details:

“Chesapeake, a new crab shack and seafood house with a full bar, is coming to the heart of U Street later this year. The new restaurant, from the owners of Duke’s Grocery, Duke’s Counter and Gogi Yogi, will feature a casual dockside vibe along with a variety of shellfish options and a vibrant bar scene. Guests can expect fresh squeezed crushes, and all beers will be locally sourced from breweries in the District, Maryland and Virginia. (more…)

DC Fire and EMS reported early Sunday morning: “Update Working Fire 1000 block U St NW. #DCsBravest have placed fire under control. Aggressive interior firefighting prevented spread to adjacent structures. There are no injuries reported and investigators are on scene. 2 story commercial building appears unoccupied.”
