14th and T Street, NW previously home to Matchbox
Note: The Matchbox closed here back in September 2020. Matchbox opened here back in late 2012. Historically the space was home to Arena Stage’s Living Stage outreach theater which had been long closed/vacant prior to Matchbox’s opening here.

OK kids gather round as old man Dan takes you back to the DC of another age. I’m going to tell you a little story about December 19th, 2009. There was a time when organized snowball fights first emerged in DC. Thanks to cellphones, the internet/Facebook and a little mischief word quickly spread. And we hadn’t had a really good snow in a while so folks were pretty giddy about what would become known as snowpocalpyse/snowmageddon (the snow storms from December 2009 into January/February 2010.) The Juvenile Curfew Second Emergency Amendment Act of 2025 gives the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department the authority to order a Juvenile Curfew Zone in an area where large groups of youths are gathering or intend to gather in a manner that poses a risk of substantial harm to public safety.
