From a press release:

Seven Reasons – a bold dining experience by lauded Chef Enrique Limardo – offering his creative take on Latin American-inspired cuisine opens on Tuesday, April 16 at 2208 14th Street, NW. The name is a fun nod to numerology, where the number seven symbolizes one who is searching for new experiences. With his debut Washington restaurant, Chef Limardo will offer an exceptional culinary experience while having fun with texture, flavor and plating. Designed in collaboration with Miami-based Valentina Story, the space is inspired by the diverse landscapes of South America. (more…)

This is not a drill. And it’s no joke – climate change is to blame:

“You can clearly seen the impacts of the 2018 wet weather pattern and the influence of Hurricanes Florence and Hurricane Michael, respectively. Many of the places in blue (very wet) on that map are places that grow collard greens. Flooding and field inundation in Texas and the southeastern United States reduced crop yields and forced farmers to harvest early. Collard greens are also grown in California, which experienced significant challenges from Santa Ana wind-driven fires. Growers report torn leaves and scarring.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I had reservations for next weekend for a tour and tasting at District Distilling and last Monday got an email from Open Table that my reservation was cancelled and District Distilling is permanently closed. I have called them and no one picked up, but their website is still up and nothing has been updated anywhere else to say they are closed. Anyone have any idea what’s going on? Are they actually out of business?”
