The listing says:

“Because of a professional opportunity in Europe we are sad to leave our house in NoMA behind. This beautiful 3 bedroom 3.5 bathroom townhouse is located in vibrant Truxton Circle / NoMa – just a short walk away from two metro lines (red and yellow/green), shopping (harris teeter, union market) and some of DC’s finest coffee shops (big bear, busboys and poets) and restaurants (rustik tavern, beau thai). Even Chinatown and the H Street corridor are within walking distance.

The entire house has a unique, modern flair with black bamboo flooring on two floors. The big, open kitchen has been completely redone in 2011 including all new appliances, as have all bathrooms. The ground floor has large windows giving it more light than most other townhouses. The house includes a complete English basement (with kitchenette and bathroom) with separate entrance. The house has a back deck and a small patio that can be used as a parking spot for one car.

We are renting the house furnished or unfurnished.”

A reader reports:

“There were shots fired at 3rd and P st NW maybe 30 mins ago, and now heavy police presence/road blocked. [as of 4pm] The police appear to have completed the site investigation and police tape is down on P ST and 3rd ST NW.”

Update from MPD:

“Fifth Police District Units responded to and investigated the Sound of Gunshots, 3rd & P St. NW, 12:37 PM, CCN: 019-245. A Witness stated that a group of folks were standing at New Jersey and P St. NW when a dark 4dr sedan pulled onto P St. from NJ Ave and fired several shots. We recovered evidence that supports that claims that shots were fired.

We firmly believe that this was not the case of an armed individual firing randomly.”

carjacking

“Dear PoPville,

I was looking at condos on Saturday afternoon in Bloomingdale (near Dunbar) when a car raced past and slammed into a house [1st and Bates St, NW] while trying to make a left turn. Three kids jumped out of the car and went running into the neighborhood. What was really strange was that there were two cop cars following them but the cops stopped before reaching them and then turned away from the direction the kids ran in – and didn’t stop to see if anyone got hurt by the car slamming into the house. Another cop showed up awhile later but it seemed really strange the cops wouldn’t do anything while they were on the scene. Do you have any insight?”
