Offering another ode to spring, PUBLIN delivers the ‘luck of the Irish’ with a festive design inspired by the symbol of Ireland: the shamrock. The bar is surrounded by nearly two hundred oversized four-leaf clovers and spring flowers, with a larger-than-life gilded gold beehive suspended above the bar.

The cocktail menu features a selection of elevated Irish classics designed to showcase Irish whiskey and its versatility. (more…)

Jay reports:

“Someone chopped down half of this pretty row of trees on 8th Between R Street and S Street Northwest. The trees made otherwise dismal projects look a lot better. Sad!

They look down 6 healthy looking trees. It was the only thing beautiful about the block. 5 are left. They all looked healthy to me last summer until the fall/winter shed. But I’m not a tree expert. It all looked fine to me.

I included one with all the trees in snow to show how pretty it was.”
