Inspiration for DC Reynold’s super popular buy one get one?
Also interesting to note their redacted sign from Chuck & Billy Club 2718 to Chuck & Bill 2718. Anyone know if the change is related to the violence of last year:

From an email:
“I recently opened a maker’s studio in Park View called The Lemon Bowl where people can take all sorts of creative workshops and expert-led DIYs.
The Lemon Bowl was founded by three local makers: illustrator Kathryn Zaremba, fiber artist Linny Giffin and myself, Holley Simmons, a local terrarium teacher and the owner of Sill Life.
The three of us use the space to practice our individual crafts (I use it primarily to spill dirt everywhere, haha) and we also make the space available to the public for classes and events.
Coming up we have some really amazing programming:

Former Ward One Council Member Jim Graham’s breaks his self imposed silence on the LeDroit Park listserv:
“I have followed closely the actions and messages on the blizzard and its consequences by Mayor Bowser and Councilmember Nadeau. They are to be commended for all of what they are doing .
After 16 years of service as your councilmember, I intentionally stepped back these past 12 months. Some of you know I have other endeavors. I’m on the board of a homeless substance-abuse recovery program and I hope to be soon engaged with immigrant issues. Naturally I also plan to be engaged with the LGBT concerns. And I did start a successful adults-only business on Georgia Avenue.
It is all quite a change for me. Not having as much contact with Ward One friends has been the hardest part.
I now feel it is time for me to again engage , as a businessman and neighbor, with issues of concern to me in DC.
What I am about to say is obviously not for everyone~~~but i know there are many LGBTQ persons 21 and over who live in our area. Cabin fever is running very high. So I’m having a special NO admission charge on tomorrow Tuesday Jan 26 for those persons who may enjoy such entertainment. See www.rockharddc.com for details.
Stay warm~~and please help those who aren’t,
Bests
Jim Graham”

Books and Beer – doesn’t get much better than that!! Check it out – from The Midlands:
“Trent Allen, Robin Webb and Peyton Sherwood from the Kangaroo Boxing Club have partnered together again for a new project opening this spring. “The Midlands” will be a restaurant with a large outdoor beer garden in the Park View neighborhood at 3333 Georgia Ave NW. Patrons will have draft selections of greater than 15 and less than 30 taps, wine of the fermented grape variety, featuring red, white and pink. The menu will feature hand-crafted, gourmet, chef-driven, small-batch sandwiches from the future, that are totally not pretentious.”
